Option 1: Mulch It In Place
The cheapest path by a wide margin, because nothing leaves the property. A forestry mulcher processes standing vegetation into a mulch mat that stays as ground cover.
- Cost: included in the mulching price, no separate disposal line
- Good for: reclaiming overgrown land, trails, firebreaks, fence lines, erosion-prone sandy ground
- Limits: the mulch stays, so it is not an option where you need clean, buildable dirt
On Florida sand the mat is genuinely useful. It holds moisture, slows summer erosion and suppresses regrowth while it decomposes over a year or two.
Option 2: Burn It

If a quote includes haul off, ask whether tipping fees are inside the number or billed at cost afterward. That difference has surprised a lot of people.
Option 4: Sell The Timber
On parcels with enough merchantable pine or hardwood, a timber sale can offset part of the clearing cost or occasionally cover it. This is worth exploring when you have several acres of straight, mature stems and reasonable truck access. It is not worth exploring for a suburban lot with a dozen trees, because mobilization for a logging crew eats any value.
